Yesterday I was talking about a stickier internet, experiences that you spend time with and that reward you.

This morning I listened to the latest WNYC New Tech City podcast about the Cicada 3301 mystery. Taking its cue from a recent Daily Telegraph article the podcast explored a series of increasingly complex puzzles that started on a hidden away internet forum.

The end of the story is probably the biggest puzzle, but still a fascinating story of how something so intricate and unknown can exist in a time and in a place where more folk are being increasingly transparent (intentionally or unintentionally, eh, NSA) with their actions.

Take ten minutes out to listen to the podcast here.
